Manchester City have completed the signing of Iliman Ndiaye from Everton for up to €75m, with Enzo Fernandez now expected to follow him to the Etihad.

Manchester City have completed another major deadline-day transfer, officially signing Iliman Ndiaye from Everton in a deal that could eventually be worth €75m.
The 26-year-old Senegal international has signed a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium. City will pay Everton a guaranteed £60m, with another £5m available through bonuses, taking the complete package to £65m.
"I've worked my whole life for this opportunity. City are one of the best clubs in the world, and I grew up watching them win all sorts of trophies," Ndiaye said. "The opportunity to write my own chapter in such a special story comes once in a lifetime, and I want to grab it with both hands."
Ndiaye also reflected on the difficult path that eventually brought him to Manchester. "It hasn't always been easy in my career, but I always believed that one day I could play for a team that is fighting for the biggest trophies. Now I'm here."
Tottenham thought they had him
Ndiaye joined Everton from Marseille in 2024 and developed into one of their most important attacking players, scoring 21 goals in 74 appearances. His performances had convinced Tottenham to make a serious move for him.
Tottenham and Everton had reportedly reached an agreement on Friday night, with Richarlison's proposed return to Everton developing alongside the deal. However, the Brazilian failed to agree personal terms with his former club and Tottenham's plan subsequently collapsed.
Manchester City seized the opportunity and moved quickly to bring Ndiaye to the Etihad, adding more pace, versatility and directness to Enzo Maresca's attacking options.
Now City are waiting for Enzo Fernandez
Ndiaye may not even be City's biggest deadline-day signing. The club has also reached an agreement with Chelsea for Enzo Fernandez, with the BBC reporting that the Argentine midfielder will cost a British-record £125m.
Fernandez is expected to become Maresca's eighth summer reinforcement, following a remarkable recruitment drive that has already included Elliot Anderson, Geronimo Rulli, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Allan Elias, Jeremy Mongo, Pierce Charles and now Ndiaye.
For Everton, the transfer represents one of the biggest sales in the club's history. For Manchester City, the €75m arrival of Ndiaye could merely be the warm-up act before an even bigger deadline-day announcement.
