Rodrygo has dismissed Manchester City’s interest, reaffirming his happiness at Real Madrid ahead of their Champions League clash. The Brazilian forward remains a key player despite Mbappé's arrival.
Rodrygo will take the field tonight against Manchester City, the very club that tried to lure him away from Real Madrid last summer. Following Madrid’s high-profile signing of Kylian Mbappé, there were widespread expectations that the Brazilian’s playing time would diminish, potentially pushing him toward an exit. However, those concerns have proven unfounded.
Despite the arrival of the French superstar, Rodrygo has remained a crucial part of Carlo Ancelotti's squad, racking up 31 appearances, 12 goals, and 8 assists this season. While the 24-year-old may never become the primary star at the Santiago Bernabéu, he has made it clear that he doesn’t see his future anywhere else.
When asked about interest from other clubs, including Manchester City and several teams from Saudi Arabia, Rodrygo gave a firm response.
"These are more questions for my father, who is also my agent, and for the club. I’m not aware of the details," Rodrygo said. "I’m very grateful for the interest, but I’m extremely happy in Madrid. I’ve been here for a long time, and playing in the Champions League wearing this jersey is something wonderful."
Rodrygo is under contract with Real Madrid until 2028, and his loyalty to the club appears unwavering, even in the face of lucrative offers from elsewhere.
