In a surprising turn of events during the Champions League Group H match at the Olimpijski Stadium on Montjuic, where Barcelona secured a 2-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk.
The spotlight momentarily shifted from the players on the pitch to an unexpected interaction on the sidelines.
Marin Pušić, the newly appointed 52-year-old Croatian coach of Shakhtar, who joined from Dutch champions Feyenoord where he served as an assistant coach, experienced a challenging debut against a formidable Barcelona side. Despite Xavi resting key players like Pedri, Raphinha, Sergi Roberto, Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie de Jong, Jules Kounde, and Gavi, Barcelona managed to secure a 2-0 lead by halftime. Shakhtar managed to pull one back through Sudakov, but couldn't find the equalizer.
However, the match will be remembered for a heartwarming moment when one of Shakhtar's assistant coaches, without any hesitation and with great respect, approached Barcelona's stars on the bench to ask for their autographs. The players, slightly taken aback, graciously fulfilled his request. This endearing moment was captured on video and has since become a hit on social media.
