Germany's football director Rudi Völler suggests Jürgen Klopp as the top candidate to succeed Julian Nagelsmann when the time comes.
The German national team is currently under the leadership of Julian Nagelsmann, but DFB officials are already thinking ahead. Rudi Völler, the sporting director of the German football association, has revealed who would be the top candidate to take over if Nagelsmann steps down in the future.
According to Völler, Jürgen Klopp is the primary choice to succeed Nagelsmann when the time comes. Klopp, formerly the manager of Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool, is currently not in a coaching role. Having left Liverpool after nine years, Klopp has stated that he is enjoying his time away from football and may not return to management.
"If Julian Nagelsmann decides to return to club football, we will have to consider his successor, and Jürgen Klopp will certainly be a top option, if he's interested," Völler explained.
Germany has important upcoming fixtures next month, facing Bosnia and Herzegovina away and hosting the Netherlands.
