Al Hilal is reportedly planning a summer overhaul and no longer sees Aleksandar Mitrović and Sergej Milinković-Savić as part of its long-term strategy.

Al Hilal, the most successful club in Saudi Arabia, is preparing for a major revamp—and that could mean the end for two of the club’s biggest stars. According to Serbian media, Aleksandar Mitrović and Sergej Milinković-Savić are no longer in the club’s plans for next season.

Both players were key contributors to Al Hilal’s dominant title run last year and were considered among the top foreign signings in the Saudi Pro League. However, with a limited quota on foreign players, Al Hilal is now aiming to bring in even more high-profile international talent—and that puts the Serbian duo on the chopping block.

Mitrović has delivered extraordinary numbers, scoring 72 goals in 75 matches, and has attracted interest from Besiktas, who are reportedly preparing an offer for the summer. Speculation about his departure has intensified in recent months.

Milinković-Savić has also been productive, contributing 27 goals and 24 assists in 87 appearances. He could be set for a return to Europe, with clubs in Italy—especially former suitors in Serie A—monitoring his situation closely.

The potential exits of Mitrović and Milinković-Savić mark a significant shift in strategy for Al Hilal, who are pushing to become even more globally recognizable by targeting marquee names in the 2024 summer transfer window.
