Following the record signing of Jhon Durán, Al Nassr is now reportedly targeting Liverpool winger Luis Díaz as their next high-profile transfer from the Premier League.
The Saudi Pro League continues its push for global relevance, and Al Nassr’s latest ambition underlines that perfectly. After pulling off a stunning €83 million deal to sign Jhon Durán from Aston Villa, the Riyadh-based club is now eyeing an even more spectacular target: Luis Díaz of Liverpool.
According to British media, the move cannot be ruled out, even though Díaz remains under contract at Anfield until 2027. The Colombian winger has enjoyed another outstanding season, recording 15 goals and 7 assists across all competitions. But as Saudi clubs grow increasingly aggressive in the market, even top Premier League talents are becoming reachable.
Durán’s January switch to Al Nassr already demonstrated the Saudi league’s financial pull — not only with aging stars or out-of-favour players, but with young, high-potential talents willing to forgo European ambitions for massive salaries.
The situation at Liverpool could open the door. With the club already tied into a huge deal with Mohamed Salah, and expected to hand Virgil van Dijk a lucrative new contract under similar terms, selling Díaz could help ease the financial strain of upcoming renewals and summer reinforcements.
New manager Arne Slot, who is set to take over after Jürgen Klopp’s departure, is reportedly keen on reshaping the attack. Alexander Isak has been identified as a priority target, and funding that transfer may require at least one high-profile sale. Díaz, given his value and interest from abroad, could be the most marketable option.
If Al Nassr proceeds with a formal approach, it would signal yet another statement of intent from Saudi Arabia — not only to lure elite talent, but to change the dynamics of the global transfer market.,
