Albert Riera has signed a two-year contract with Red Star Belgrade, with Serbian media reporting that the former Celje coach could earn €1.94 million, including bonuses.

Albert Riera has officially become the new head coach of Red Star Belgrade, and Serbian media have now revealed the financial details of the contract awaiting the former Celje boss at the Rajko Mitić Stadium.
According to Serbian outlet Meridian Sport, the 44-year-old Spaniard signed a two-year agreement while in Mallorca.
Including bonuses, Riera is expected to earn up to €960,000 during his first season in Belgrade. His potential earnings will increase slightly in the second year to €980,000.
If all bonuses included in his contract are activated, Riera could therefore collect as much as €1.94 million over two seasons. That works out at an average of slightly more than €80,000 per month.
The figure also represents a significant increase compared to the lucrative contract Riera previously enjoyed at Celje.
His salary at Eintracht Frankfurt has never been publicly disclosed, but he will reportedly earn considerably more at Red Star than he did during his successful spell in Slovenia.
By Slovenian standards, Riera already had an exceptional contract at Celje. Unofficially, the Spanish coach cost the club around €50,000 per month, while several tens of thousands of euros more were required every month to cover the salaries of his closest coaching staff.
Riera expected to arrive by private plane
Riera is currently still in Spain, but according to the latest reports, he is expected to arrive in Belgrade on Sunday morning, reportedly travelling by private plane.
His official presentation to the Serbian media should then take place at the Rajko Mitić Stadium, with Riera also expected to conduct his first Red Star training session later that day.
There will be little time for introductions.
The Spaniard will have only four days to prepare his new team for an important European challenge. Following their painful defeat against Hapoel Beersheba, Red Star will face Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League qualifiers.
Riera replaces Dejan Stanković, who resigned after Red Star failed to qualify for the Champions League.
The former Liverpool and Spain winger will also become only the fifth Red Star coach from outside the former Yugoslavia. He follows Walter Zenga, Zdeněk Zeman, Ricardo Sá Pinto and Barak Bakhar.
