Manchester United could sell Alejandro Garnacho to fund a move for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, as manager Rúben Amorim plans for a squad shake-up.
Alejandro Garnacho, Manchester United’s young forward, is rumored to be on the way out of Old Trafford during the current transfer window, with Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford eyed as his potential replacement.
According to the Daily Express, United is planning a surprise move for Mbeumo in the summer, despite interest from Arsenal and Newcastle United in recent months. The Cameroon international, who has scored 13 goals in 20 league matches this season, will enter the final year of his contract in July, sparking speculation about his future with the Bees.
The Daily Star reports that United manager Rúben Amorim is a fan of Mbeumo and is keen to bring him to the club if Garnacho or Marcus Rashford departs during the ongoing window. Garnacho’s limited role under Amorim has raised doubts about his future, with United allegedly open to offers for several first-team players, including Rashford and Garnacho.
Meanwhile, Brentford boss Thomas Frank has dismissed transfer rumors surrounding Mbeumo. “In January? I’d say good luck. We love Bryan. He loves playing here. He’s had a fantastic season, so nothing is going to happen,” Frank said, though he might reconsider if United makes a substantial offer in the summer.
