UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin believes the hosts, Germany, are the top contenders for winning the European Championship.

In the days leading up to the central football event of the year, discussions about favorites are a popular topic. Joining the conversation is UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, who, unlike many who consider France and England the top contenders, has decided to name Germany as his primary favorite.

"I don't know why, but I've told my friends that Germany is the biggest favorite for me. They haven't performed well in recent years at major tournaments, but they have a very good team," Čeferin said to the DPA agency.

Čeferin also sees France, England, and Portugal in the top tier of central favorites, while he places Spain, Croatia, Belgium, the Netherlands, and even Denmark in the second tier.

Germany has been eliminated in the group stage in the last two World Cups, and in Euro 2020, they were knocked out by England in the Round of 16.
