While Fabio Paratici and Igli Tare emerge as favorites for the sporting director role, Milan are keeping an eye on Massimiliano Allegri for the bench.
AC Milan are still in the early stages of planning their managerial future, but Massimiliano Allegri has resurfaced as a potential candidate. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, CEO Giorgio Furlani recently spoke with the former Juventus boss over the phone, facilitated by a mutual acquaintance. Though the two are not closely connected, the current situation at Milan has put them on a similar path.
No coaching decision just yet
Despite the call, Milan are not yet ready to finalize their next coach. Furlani remains focused on appointing a new sporting director, a decision that will influence who takes charge of the team next season.
Currently in Dubai for commercial engagements, Furlani is expected to meet with several candidates for the sporting director role in the coming weeks. The four leading contenders are:Fabio Paratici, Igli Tare, Markus Krösche and Thiago Scuro
Among them, Paratici and Tare are seen as favorites, with Milan still evaluating their options.
Allegri intrigued by Milan return
Although Saudi Arabian clubs have shown interest, Allegri reportedly prefers to stay in Europe, and more specifically, in Italy. A return to Milan—where he previously won Serie A in 2011—appeals to him, especially as he sees the current squad, built under Sérgio Conceição, as a promising project with room for improvement.
However, the decision involves more than just the coach—it will depend on the club’s long-term vision, the sporting director’s appointment, and the direction of next season’s project.
For now, Milan are keeping the lines of communication open, and if needed, Furlani knows he can make further inquiries.
