Alphonso Davies has officially committed his future to Bayern Munich, putting an end to months of speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
The Canadian full-back has been with Bayern since 2018, when he arrived from Vancouver Whitecaps, and will now remain with the German champions until at least the summer of 2030. After weeks of rumors, Bayern have finally confirmed the contract extension, securing one of their most valuable assets.
Davies is currently sidelined with an injury but is expected to return to action soon as he continues his recovery.
His decision to stay is not only a huge boost for Bayern but also a blow to Real Madrid, who had been heavily pursuing the left-back as part of their defensive rebuild. With Davies now off the market, attention may shift to Trent Alexander-Arnold, another long-term target for the Spanish giants. The Liverpool star’s contract situation remains unresolved, and Madrid could intensify their efforts to bring him to the Bernabéu.
During his time in Germany, Davies has won the Bundesliga five times, lifted the Champions League trophy once, and claimed two DFB-Pokal titles, along with multiple Super Cups.
