Injured Bayern star Alphonso Davies was visibly shaken while watching teammate and close friend Jamal Musiala suffer a serious ankle injury live during Bayern’s 2–0 loss to PSG.
Alphonso Davies couldn’t hide his emotions while watching Jamal Musiala suffer a painful injury during Bayern Munich’s 2–0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup quarter-finals.
The Canadian full-back, who is himself out with a long-term injury, was live streaming the match when Musiala went down in agony after a collision with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The 22-year-old midfielder's ankle twisted unnaturally, and he was immediately substituted with fears of a serious layoff.
Davies and Musiala are known to share a close friendship, often seen joking and training together at Säbener Straße. Davies' reaction—one of shock and disbelief—reflected the gravity of the moment. He reportedly cut the stream short after witnessing the injury.
Musiala’s injury further dampened a frustrating night for Bayern, who were eliminated from the tournament by goals from Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé. But the real concern now surrounds the condition of their midfield star, who had been in strong form.
Davies, who suffered a severe hamstring injury back in March, remains on the sidelines and is not expected to return anytime soon. Now, he may be joined in recovery by his close friend and teammate.
With both young stars facing uncertain timelines, Bayern’s upcoming campaign could be shaped as much by recovery rooms as by results on the pitch.
