Álvaro Morata regrets leaving Atlético Madrid for AC Milan, admitting it was a mistake. Now at Galatasaray, he is rediscovering his form in Turkey.
Álvaro Morata has openly admitted that his decision to leave Atlético Madrid for AC Milan last summer was a mistake. The Spanish striker, who lasted only six months in Italy before moving to Galatasaray in January, now wishes he had stayed under Diego Simeone.
"I shouldn’t have left Atlético, but I wasn’t feeling well, and that led to bad decisions," Morata said. "The AC Milan coach called me every day, and I felt wanted. But I didn’t think about how important I was to Simeone. My father and agent told me I was making a mistake, but I didn’t listen."
The 32-year-old has settled well in Turkey, contributing three goals and one assist in six appearances as Galatasaray push for the league title.
