Álvaro Negredo has announced his retirement from professional football, closing a remarkable career that saw him reach the pinnacle of European and world football. The former Spain international, who won the Euro 2012 title, confirmed his decision via a video posted on his social media, where he symbolically hung up his boots in a locker room, bidding farewell with a heartfelt "Gracias, fútbol!"

Negredo's career began at Rayo Vallecano in Segunda B before moving to Real Madrid Castilla. He made his breakthrough at Almería, earning a move to Sevilla, where he spent four successful seasons, establishing himself as one of Spain’s top strikers.

His performances led him to a move abroad, joining Manchester City, where he won both the Premier League and the League Cup. After his time in England, he played for Valencia, Middlesbrough, and Beşiktaş, before moving to Al Nasr in the United Arab Emirates. He later returned to Spain, spending over three seasons at Cádiz, before finishing his career at Real Valladolid, where he left in July 2024 and remained without a club since.

With 11 clubs in his professional career, Negredo leaves a lasting legacy as one of the most consistent and respected Spanish forwards of his generation, known for his power, goal-scoring ability, and professionalism both on and off the pitch.
