Both Arsenal and Manchester City stumbled in this round of the Premier League, while Nottingham Forest continues to surprise, climbing up the standings.
Premier League, Round 10:
Bournemouth - Manchester City
The home side stunned the reigning champions early, scoring in the 9th minute. Full-back Kekerez made a strong run down the left and delivered an excellent cross into the box, where Semenyo calmly finished for 1-0. In the 63rd minute, Evanilson doubled the lead with another assist from Kekerez, in an action remarkably similar to the first goal.
Joško Gvardiol reduced the deficit for City in the 82nd minute, marking yet another crucial goal by the Croatian defender this season. However, it wasn’t enough as Bournemouth held on through added time to celebrate an impressive victory over the champions.
Liverpool - Brighton
There was a long stretch at Anfield where an upset seemed possible. Brighton took an early lead through Kadıoğlu. The home side equalized in the 69th minute, and just three minutes later, they took the lead. Gakpo sent a cross into the box, which everyone missed, and it found its way into the net. Shortly after, Mohamed Salah struck again to make it 2-1, finishing off a counterattack initiated by Curtis Jones with a precise move inside the penalty area.
Nottingham Forest - West Ham
West Ham fell victim to a formidable Nottingham Forest side, losing 3-0 with goals from Aina, Hudson-Odoi, and Wood. The second half saw Forest playing with an extra man after Edson Alvarez was sent off, which contributed to their dominance. Forest currently holds an impressive third place in the Premier League.
Southampton - Everton
Everton came into the match with a positive run of results but suffered a defeat away to Southampton. The only goal came in the 85th minute from Adam Armstrong, giving Southampton their first win of the current Premier League season. They remain in the penultimate position on the table.
Ipswich Town - Leicester City
The clash between last season’s Championship teams ended in a draw at Ipswich. The hosts took the lead in the 55th minute through Davis, but Leicester managed a dramatic equalizer in the fourth minute of added time, with veteran forward Jordan Ayew securing the point that keeps them in 15th place in the league.
