Ante Budimir achieved a remarkable feat by setting a record in La Liga and Osasuna's history that had not been matched for 88 years.
His involvement in Osasuna's 2-0 win against Almeria in the La Liga’s 30th round has dual dimensions; he secured victory for his team and scored his 16th goal of the season. By doing this, he gets to lead the La Liga scoring chart alongside Jude Bellingham.
Budimir's significant contribution has not only placed him in a prominent position among La Liga's top scorers but also immortalized him as the second player in Osasuna's history to score more than 15 goals in a single top-flight Spanish football season. The only other player to achieve this feat for Osasuna was Julian Vergara, who scored 20 goals back in the 1935/36 season. Now, with just five more goals, Budimir has the opportunity to surpass this record and become Osasuna's all-time single-season scoring leader.
