Antonio Marin made his return for Olimpija after nine months of recovery. The Croatian midfielder reflects on his journey, thanking fans and vowing to repay their support with success.
Antonio Marin, who joined Olimpija Ljubljana in January, has had a turbulent journey in his short time with the club. Initially, Marin impressed with his talent, justifying his reputation as a former rising star from Dinamo Zagreb. However, a serious injury sidelined him, marking the toughest period of his career so far.
Last weekend, Marin made his comeback, stepping onto the field in the second half of the match against Mura. This marked his first appearance in 267 days, concluding a challenging chapter of surgery, recovery, and separation from the sport he loves.
"After nine months, I’ve finally returned to the game I love the most—football. It’s been a long 267 days: surgery, recovery, being away from teammates, the pitch, and the fans. Accepting that was the hardest part. During these nine months, I had only one goal in mind: to come back stronger."
Marin reflected on the journey and his excitement for the future:
"I played my first minutes against Mura and now I’m looking forward to everything ahead. I want to continue where I left off on February 17 against Radomlje. Thank you to everyone who stood by me during this tough time and to all the fans for their messages of support. You were a huge motivation for me, and I hope to repay you in the best way I can—with goals and victories."
The midfielder shared his heartfelt message via Olimpija’s official Facebook page, signaling a new beginning after his lengthy recovery.
