Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has reportedly married his partner, Helene Spilling, as the couple prepares to welcome their first child.
Arsenal star Martin Odegaard, 25, has reportedly “secretly” tied the knot with his pregnant partner Helene Spilling, just 18 months after going public with their relationship. The midfielder and his professional dancer partner announced their pregnancy in August with a charming baby reveal, but have kept their private lives largely under wraps.
According to Norwegian outlet Verdens Gang, Odegaard has updated his marital status in the national registry, and Helene has added “Odegaard” to her name. The 27-year-old Spilling, who is known for her success as a ballroom dancer with 17 national titles and a winning performance on Norway’s version of Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, has been a supportive presence at numerous Arsenal games.
Spotted wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring during a recent stroll in London, Spilling continues to build her profile beyond dance, having founded her own studio and launched a fashion brand. She became Instagram official with Odegaard after celebrating on the pitch with him at the end of the 2022-23 season.
Odegaard is currently sidelined due to an ankle injury sustained during Norway’s Nations League win over Austria in September. The Arsenal skipper has returned to training and hopes to be fit to face Inter Milan soon. Reflecting on his time away from the pitch, Odegaard recently wrote in the Arsenal programme: “I feel like it’s close now… When I’m back, I’m going to be feeling pretty good, I’m sure.”
As Odegaard prepares for both fatherhood and a return to the field, fans and teammates are eager to see him back in action, stronger than ever.
