Conny Lehmann has revealed she is “happily single” as her ex-husband, Jens Lehmann, faces ongoing legal battles and a tarnished public image.
Jens Lehmann’s wife, Conny, has confirmed that the couple have divorced, marking the latest chapter in a dramatic decline for the former Arsenal goalkeeper, who has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons in recent years.
In an interview with German outlet Bild, Conny Lehmann, 52, said she is now embracing life as a single woman. “I’m single. I’m happily single,” she stated, choosing not to elaborate on the specifics of their separation.
Although the divorce was recently finalized, the couple had been living apart for some time. Conny moved out of their luxury villa in Starnberg, near Munich, well before legal proceedings began. The property was listed in January for €12.9 million (£10.9m).
Lehmann’s fall from grace began with a bizarre incident in the summer of 2022 when he used a chainsaw to damage the roof of a neighbour’s garage. The dispute spiraled into a legal saga, ending in a £112,500 fine after a court settlement. Originally, Lehmann faced a suspended prison sentence and a steeper fine of over £350,000 before reaching an out-of-court deal reportedly worth more than £50,000.
Further trouble followed in September 2023, just after Oktoberfest, when Lehmann was stopped by police and allegedly appeared intoxicated. Prosecutors later proposed a £60,000 fine, which Lehmann is contesting in court. His driver’s license has since been revoked.
Once a hero for his role in Arsenal’s iconic ‘Invincibles’ season and a respected figure in German football, Lehmann's post-retirement life has taken a turbulent turn. His recent legal issues and now-confirmed divorce have shifted the public focus far from the pitch.
