Arsenal have signed Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle in a £75 million deal, adding the Brazilian midfielder as Mikel Arteta's final major signing of the summer.

Arsenal have completed one of the biggest transfers of the summer by signing Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle United in a deal worth £75 million (€87.5 million).
The Brazilian midfielder becomes what is expected to be the Gunners' final major addition before the new season as Mikel Arteta looks to build a squad capable of defending the Premier League title.
Newcastle accepted after player's push
According to reports, Guimarães pushed for the move, with Newcastle eventually agreeing to sell one of their most influential players.
The agreement reportedly includes an upfront payment of the full transfer fee, with no additional performance-related bonuses.
French club Lyon, Guimarães' former team, are also set to benefit from the transfer after retaining a 20 percent sell-on clause when they sold the midfielder to Newcastle four years ago. The clause is expected to earn Lyon more than €8 million.
Another major departure for Newcastle
The transfer continues a difficult summer for Newcastle supporters, who have now seen several key players leave the club.
Earlier in the window, the Magpies also sold Sandro Tonali to Tottenham and Anthony Gordon to Barcelona.
Although Newcastle have invested heavily in new signings, replacing Guimarães' influence will not be easy after the Brazilian contributed nine goals and eight assists last season.
Arteta gets the missing piece
Guimarães brings creativity, composure and leadership to Arsenal's midfield, adding another high-quality option to a squad already strengthened this summer.
The Gunners have also signed Piero Hincapié from Bayer Leverkusen and Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge as they prepare to defend their league crown.
Arsenal had also been linked with a sensational move for Vinicius Junior, but with the Brazilian's future at Real Madrid still unresolved, the club decided to focus on securing reinforcements in positions they considered more urgent.
With Guimarães now on board, Arteta appears to have completed the squad he hopes will keep Arsenal at the top of English football.
