Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard limped off after the 1-1 draw with Brentford, putting his availability for upcoming FA Cup and Premier League matches in doubt.

Arsenal face a fresh injury concern after Martin Odegaard picked up a knock during the 1-1 draw with Brentford.

The captain entered at half-time for Eberechi Eze and immediately improved the team’s rhythm. Noni Madueke later gave Arsenal the lead before Keane Lewis-Potter equalised.

Odegaard hurt himself while trying to block the Brentford goal and was later seen limping heavily after the match.

His condition now threatens his involvement in the FA Cup tie against Wigan Athletic and the upcoming league trip to Wolves.

Arsenal were already without William Saliba due to illness and Kai Havertz because of injury.

Brentford coach Keith Andrews acknowledged the midfielder’s impact.

"Martin Odegaard changed the dynamic of the game," he said.

Former defender Martin Keown added that Arsenal’s pressing improved after his introduction but dropped once he suffered the knock.

The result leaves Arsenal four points ahead of Manchester City, with key fixtures against Tottenham and Chelsea approaching.

Mikel Arteta remained calm about the title race.

"You can only focus on what you have to do and try to do it in the best possible way," he said.
