Jonathan David is set to leave Lille on a free transfer, with Aston Villa, Tottenham, Napoli, and Juventus all in talks to sign the Canadian striker.

Jonathan David has confirmed he will leave Lille OSC at the end of the season, and with his contract expiring, the Canada international is now at the centre of a heated transfer race involving clubs from both England and Italy.

According to L’Équipe, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Napoli, and Juventus are all in active talks to sign the 25-year-old forward on a free transfer. David has been eligible to negotiate with other clubs since January, and while speculation around his future has been swirling for months, it’s only now that his departure has been officially confirmed.

Earlier this week, Fabrizio Romano reported that Napoli were in advanced discussions with David, but those negotiations appear far from concluded. As things stand, the race for his signature remains wide open, with Premier League sides now pushing to secure the prolific striker.

David will play his final match for Lille on Saturday night against Stade de Reims. A victory could see the club finish fourth and earn a spot in next season’s Champions League play-offs, capping off his stay at the club on a high note.

During his time in Ligue 1, David has emerged as one of Europe’s most consistent goal-scorers, with over 70 goals across four seasons. His movement, finishing, and work rate have made him a valuable asset for Lille — and now an in-demand free agent heading into the summer market.
