Aston Villa boss Unai Emery praised Marcus Rashford’s impact and versatility, while Manchester United confirmed the forward will return to Carrington before a final transfer decision.

Marcus Rashford has reignited his career at Aston Villa and could be set for a permanent move after manager Unai Emery praised his adaptability and influence in Villa’s attack.

After a difficult spell at Manchester United, Rashford joined Villa on loan in January and has outshone Ollie Watkins, becoming a pivotal figure for Emery's side. His performances across the front line, both centrally and out wide, have helped Villa in key matches, including vital encounters against Paris Saint-Germain.

Emery hinted at the club’s ambition to retain Rashford, stating: “You always need two strikers and being versatile is better. Rashford is versatile. I like to have players in the squad at the level those two have shown us.”

With Villa aiming for another season in the Champions League, Rashford’s presence is seen as crucial. The club can sign him permanently for £40 million this summer, pending Rashford’s own desire to make the switch.

Meanwhile, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim confirmed on Friday that Rashford will return to Carrington this summer before any final decision is made about his future.

“All the players on loan will return, and then the club will decide what to do at the end of the season,” Amorim explained. “When you put a player on loan, the best thing is for them to perform. We are really happy because Rashford has done just that.”

For now, Rashford’s next move remains open—but Aston Villa have made it clear they would welcome him with open arms if he chooses to stay.
