Atlético Madrid have officially confirmed the signing of Kang-in Lee from Paris Saint-Germain, ending months of speculation surrounding the South Korean international's future.

The Spanish club have reportedly paid around €35 million for the 25-year-old, who has signed a five-year contract that will keep him in Madrid until the summer of 2031.

Lee leaves PSG after making 124 appearances in all competitions, scoring 32 goals and contributing 32 assists. Although he frequently had to settle for a place on the bench, he played an important role during one of the most successful periods in the club's history.

The South Korean arrives at Atlético as one of Asia's most decorated active footballers. He is the only Asian player to have won the UEFA Champions League twice, lifting the trophy in consecutive seasons with Paris Saint-Germain. During his time in France, he also collected three Ligue 1 titles, two French Cups, two French Super Cups and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

Lee remains a key figure for the South Korea national team and added another major honour to his career by winning the Olympic gold medal in 2023. Earlier in his career, he also lifted the Copa del Rey with Valencia during the 2018/19 season.

After emerging through Valencia's academy, Lee joined Mallorca, where his impressive performances earned him a move to PSG in the summer of 2022. Back in 2019, he became the youngest South Korean footballer to appear in the UEFA Champions League.

At Atlético Madrid, Lee will join fellow star Jan Oblak as Diego Simeone continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.

The South Korean international becomes Atlético's third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Morten Hjulmand and Alejandro Grimaldo.
