A group of suspected Real Sociedad supporters has been detained after a dangerous confrontation with Atletico Madrid fans on a highway.
A serious incident on a Spanish highway has shocked the football community after a group of supporters allegedly targeted a vehicle carrying Atletico Madrid fans.
According to reports linked to Jusapol Madrid, an organization representing members of the National Police and the Civil Guard, authorities intervened near Badajoz and detained several individuals believed to be Real Sociedad supporters.
The group is accused of attempting to force a van off the road. The vehicle reportedly carried Atletico fans and was clearly marked with red and white colors and the Spanish flag.
A witness, identified as Sandra, recorded part of the incident and described the situation as extremely dangerous.
"We were terrified because they saw that we were filming. We had to stop so they could pass," she said.
According to her account, several vehicles followed and threatened the van for around ten minutes, creating what she described as "scenes like from a movie".
The group allegedly tried to intimidate the passengers, prompting the witness to record license plates and contact authorities.
"We were very scared, but we managed to report them. I have no problem filing a complaint," she added.
Police later located and detained suspects, though details of the investigation remain limited.
The incident has raised serious concerns about fan violence away from stadiums, especially when it puts lives at risk on public roads.
