Barcelona completed a historic perfect home season in La Liga after winning all 19 league matches under Hansi Flick.

Barcelona have completed one of the greatest domestic records in Spanish football history after winning all 19 home matches in La Liga.

Hansi Flick’s side sealed the historic achievement with a 3-1 victory over Real Betis, finishing the campaign with a flawless home record.

No Barcelona team had managed such a feat for 66 years.

The last time the Catalan giants achieved a perfect home league season came during the 1959-60 campaign under legendary coach Helenio Herrera.

Remarkably, Herrera’s Barcelona also accomplished the same achievement one season earlier in 1958-59.

However, Flick’s side has now achieved something even more unique.

This Barcelona team became the first club in Spanish football history to complete a perfect home season in the modern 20-team La Liga format.

Even some of Barcelona’s greatest teams failed to reach such numbers.

Not even the famous squads led by Lionel Messi managed to win every home league match during a single campaign.

The closest came in the 2016-17 season when Barcelona recorded 16 wins and three draws under Ernesto Valverde.

If viewed across all of Spanish football, the achievement becomes even more impressive.

The last club to win every home league match in Spain before this season was Real Madrid during the 1985-86 campaign.

Barcelona’s consistency becomes even more remarkable considering the unusual circumstances surrounding several home fixtures this season.

The club played matches under changing conditions and at different venues, yet still refused to drop a single point.

The achievement also places Flick’s Barcelona among a very small group of elite European teams.

Only a handful of clubs from Europe’s top five leagues have completed a perfect home league season in the modern era.

Those teams include Juventus in 2013-14, Saint-Étienne in 1974-75, and English club Sunderland back in 1891-92.

For Flick, the record represents another major statement during his first season in Spain and confirms Barcelona’s return to domestic dominance.
