Barcelona have officially strengthened their squad for the future by completing the signing of highly rated Belgian winger Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge.

The 18-year-old, who is regarded as one of Belgium's brightest young talents and has drawn comparisons to compatriot Jérémy Doku, has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2031.

After finalizing the transfer, Bisiwu posed with his new Barcelona shirt alongside club president Joan Laporta before giving his first interview as a Blaugrana player.

"It's a dream come true"

The Leuven-born winger admitted the move fulfilled one of his childhood ambitions.

"My first days have been very good. I was welcomed by a big family, and I'm extremely grateful. Everyone has been very friendly and seeing all this with my own eyes is a completely different feeling. I'm very happy to be here."

Bisiwu also revealed that playing for Barcelona had always been one of his biggest dreams.

"When I was younger, I always wanted to play for a big club like Barça, so this is a dream come true for me."

Hansi Flick has already spoken to him

The teenager confirmed that head coach Hansi Flick has already outlined what he expects from him during his first season at the club.

"Coach Hansi Flick welcomed me very well. We had a few conversations, and it's very clear to me what I have to do this year: work hard and learn as much as possible."

"Everyone at the club has been very attentive, and I'm really grateful. I'll give everything I have for this badge."

One for the future

Barcelona view Bisiwu as one of Europe's most promising young wide players and believe he has the potential to develop into an important member of the first team over the coming seasons.

Now the Belgian youngster begins the biggest challenge of his career, hoping to establish himself at one of football's biggest clubs after making the move from Belgian champions Club Brugge.
