Barcelona remains steadfast in their decision to ban a vocal section of supporters after disputes over a €21,000 fine, despite striker Raphinha’s efforts to mediate.
The conflict started last season when Barcelona received fines due to inappropriate chants from the club's most passionate supporters, who refuse to pay. Consequently, the club banned these fans from matches at the Camp Nou.
The banned fans, who are popular among other supporters for their vibrant atmosphere, refuse to settle the fine, causing widespread dissatisfaction among regular attendees. Fans at recent matches have regularly chanted for the return of this singing section.
Brazilian forward Raphinha attempted to bridge the gap, offering to intervene. However, Barcelona’s management, led by president Joan Laporta, rejected his gesture and insist on their stance. This ongoing feud intensified after supporters vocally criticized Laporta, chanting: "Barcelona? Yes. Laporta? No!"
The tension suggests the conflict is partly political. Fans first fell out of favor after openly criticizing Laporta, leading to speculation about the motivations behind the club’s hardline stance.
As things stand, the singing supporters remain barred, while the wider fanbase continues to express displeasure toward Laporta’s management.
