Barcelona could soon regain full financial flexibility as La Liga’s 1:1 rule appears to be within reach after years of restrictions.

Barcelona could finally be approaching a turning point after years of financial restrictions and emergency measures.

According to reports from Spain, the Catalan giants are expected to return to La Liga’s 1:1 financial rule this summer, a move that would allow the club to operate far more normally than in recent seasons.

Although the league has not yet issued official confirmation, comments from senior officials suggest Barcelona are moving very close to reaching the target.

La Liga general director Javier Gómez recently addressed the subject during a meeting with journalists and indicated that the club is nearing compliance.

The 1:1 rule is one of the most important financial mechanisms in Spanish football.

In simple terms, it allows clubs to spend the same amount they generate or save, giving much greater flexibility in transfers, contract renewals, and squad planning.

Barcelona have spent recent years operating under stricter limitations because of financial excesses and salary restrictions, forcing the club into difficult decisions and creative financial solutions.

Now several developments appear to be changing the picture.

According to explanations connected to La Liga’s calculations, there are three major reasons behind the expected improvement.

The first is approval of the VIP hospitality project at the renovated Camp Nou, which is expected to generate more than €70 million in additional income.

The second factor is the gradual reopening of the stadium and the activation of a new stand, creating another important stream of matchday revenue.

The third element involves player wages.

Robert Lewandowski’s expected departure would significantly reduce expenses.

The Polish striker remains one of the highest earners in the squad, and his exit would lower both salary commitments and contract amortization costs.

That combination could finally give Barcelona breathing room after years of operating under constant financial pressure.

Despite the growing optimism, the club continues to remain cautious.

Barcelona are still waiting for final confirmation from La Liga before fully planning their summer strategy.

If approval arrives, it would mark one of the most important off-pitch victories for the club in recent years and potentially open the door to a very different transfer window.
