Lamine Yamal begins rehabilitation after injury, with Barcelona ruling him out for the season but aiming for full fitness ahead of the World Cup.
Lamine Yamal has taken the first step in his recovery after injury, with his focus already set on returning in time for the World Cup.
The Barcelona teenager has started rehabilitation at the Joan Gamper training centre following a hamstring problem that ended his club season.
Yamal is currently working in the gym and completing individual drills on the pitch, under close supervision from the club’s medical staff.
The injury occurred on April 22, when he suffered a partial tear of the biceps femoris in his left leg.
Medical assessments place his recovery time between six and eight weeks. He chose a conservative treatment plan, avoiding surgery to return faster.
Barcelona no longer expects him to play again this season, but there is growing belief he will be ready for international duty.
Spain coach :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0} has already made his position clear.
"These are very important players because we know how much weight they carry in these matches," he said, confirming that the staff will track Yamal’s progress closely.
The national team has a clear objective for the tournament.
"We plan to reach July 19," added De la Fuente, underlining Spain’s ambition to go all the way.
For Yamal, the timeline is tight, but the target is clear. The coming weeks will decide whether one of football’s brightest young talents makes it back in time for the biggest stage.
