Barcelona earned €9 million for winning the Spanish Super Cup after a 5:2 victory over Real Madrid, while Real collected €7 million as the runner-up.
Barcelona secured their first trophy of the season by defeating Real Madrid 5:2 in the final of the Spanish Super Cup. Despite Real taking the lead, Barca responded with four goals by half-time and completed the job in the second half, even though they played with one man less from the 57th minute. This victory marks the second dominant win for Barca over Real this season, following a 4:0 triumph at the Santiago Bernabeu earlier in the campaign.
With this win, coach Hansi Flick secured his first trophy on the Barcelona bench. According to Spanish daily AS, Barcelona will earn approximately €9 million for their Super Cup victory. While this may not seem like a huge figure, it is significant for the financially troubled Catalan club.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid will receive €7 million as the Super Cup runner-up. Barcelona has emerged as a serious problem for their biggest rivals this season, scoring a total of nine goals in two matches against Madrid.
