Barcelona fans attacked Atletico Madrid’s bus before the Champions League match, breaking windows, while Atletico responded with an ironic “Hey NASA” message.
Ahead of the Champions League quarter-final between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, another incident has cast a shadow over Spanish football.
As the visiting team arrived at the Camp Nou, a group of Barcelona fans targeted the Atletico bus, throwing objects and causing visible damage.
According to reports, at least two windows were broken, with stones, bottles and even unlit torches thrown at the vehicle.
Atletico respond with irony
Atletico Madrid reacted on social media with a sarcastic message.
"Hey, NASA, we have photos from the dark side of the moon."
The club also shared images of the damaged bus, drawing attention to the seriousness of the incident.
No injuries, but concerns grow
Despite the attack, there were no reported injuries among players or staff.
Police were present and protective barriers had been set up, but they did not prevent the incident.
Repeated pattern of violence
This was not an isolated case.
A similar attack took place just a month earlier, when the two teams met in the Spanish Cup semi-finals.
On that occasion, Barcelona fans also damaged the Atletico bus, pointing to a growing problem during high-profile matches between the two clubs.
The repeated incidents raise serious concerns about fan behavior and security ahead of major fixtures in Spain.
