Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta praised Luis Enrique’s work at PSG and called Lamine Yamal a rare gem who can bring Barça fans joy for years.
Andrés Iniesta believes Luis Enrique can lead Paris Saint-Germain to their first Champions League title and says he's rooting for the Spanish coach in Saturday’s final against Inter Milan.
“He’s a coach I really admire. I love the way he runs his teams, the energy he brings, the way he transmits his ideas. He’s an incredible worker and full of talent,” said Iniesta during a recent interview.
Iniesta, who worked with Luis Enrique at Barcelona and Spain, expressed his hope that the Asturian coach would succeed in the final. “It’s very hard to get to these stages and even harder to win. PSG have a chance to do it, and I’d be thrilled if they manage it,” he added.
The former midfielder also acknowledged Inter’s strength: “They’re a historic club, always full of top players. They fully deserve to be in the final and will be tough opponents. I just hope we get to enjoy a fantastic match.”
On the topic of his beloved Barcelona, Iniesta was full of praise for teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, who has had a breakout season at just 16 years old.
“It’s great news for Barça that he’s here. I hope he keeps growing each season because he’s truly a unique talent. He can bring a lot of joy to the fans,” said Iniesta.
Reflecting on Barça’s season, which saw them win both La Liga and the Copa del Rey and reach the Champions League semi-finals, Iniesta said: “It’s been a great year. The team is young but already full of experience. If they keep this path, they’ll be fighting for trophies every season.”
