Barcelona have completed the signing of Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal for €10m plus bonuses, with the 29-year-old signing a contract until 2029.

Barcelona have officially completed the signing of
Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal, adding an experienced Brazilian forward to their squad. The 29-year-old has signed a contract with the Catalan club running until
June 30, 2029.
Barcelona will reportedly pay Arsenal a fixed fee of €10 million, with another €4m potentially due in bonuses. The Premier League club are also understood to have secured a 20 per cent share of any future transfer fee.
Jesus successfully completed his medical before signing the contract, with particular attention paid to his injury history. The Brazilian has struggled with knee problems in recent years but insists those issues are now behind him.
"After the knee injury and almost a year without football, it was difficult. The knee is no longer a problem now and I have recovered well. The rest of my body is also in good physical condition," said Barcelona's new striker.
From Palmeiras to Manchester City, Arsenal and Barcelona
Born in São Paulo in 1997, Jesus began playing football with Anhanguera before joining the academy of Palmeiras. He made his senior debut in March 2015 and quickly established himself as one of the most highly rated young forwards in Brazilian football.
Jesus won the Brazilian Cup with Palmeiras in 2015 and the national championship a year later, when he was also named the best player in the Brazilian league. His performances earned him a move to Manchester City, where he began the European chapter of his career before later joining Arsenal.
At 29, the Brazilian will now experience Spanish football for the first time. His Premier League experience and ability to operate both centrally and in wider attacking positions give Barcelona several options across their forward line.
Olympic and Copa América champion with Brazil
Jesus also arrives at Barcelona with considerable international experience. He was part of the Brazil team that won Olympic gold in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, scoring three goals during the tournament.
He made his senior Brazil debut in September of the same year and subsequently represented his country at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Jesus was also part of the Brazilian squad that won the 2019 Copa América on home soil.
His arrival comes at an important moment in the rebuilding of Barcelona's attack. Following the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, the Catalan club needed another player capable of operating as a traditional centre-forward.
Jesus provides that option while also offering the versatility to play elsewhere in attack. Barcelona have also limited their initial financial commitment to €10m, although the final value of the transfer could rise to €14m if the agreed bonuses are triggered.
After spells with Palmeiras, Manchester City and Arsenal, Jesus now begins the fourth major chapter of his club career and his first in La Liga.
