Barcelona have reportedly achieved one of their biggest financial objectives ahead of the summer transfer window after receiving the green light to operate under La Liga's 1:1 financial rule.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, the Catalan club has received unofficial confirmation that it has returned to full compliance with the regulation, allowing it to reinvest every euro generated through player sales and making it significantly easier to register new signings.

Although neither Barcelona president Joan Laporta nor La Liga president Javier Tebas has publicly confirmed the development, both are reportedly aware of the club's improved financial position.

The change represents a breakthrough after several years of financial restrictions that repeatedly complicated Barcelona's transfer strategy.

In recent seasons, the club completed signings only to face lengthy battles over player registrations, with the cases of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor becoming two of the most notable examples.

Returning to the 1:1 rule means Barcelona will now be able to reinvest the full amount received from outgoing transfers.

That includes the reported €11 million generated by the sale of Ansu Fati, as well as a further €3 million from the departure of Iñaki Peña. If midfielder Marc Casadó is also sold, Barcelona are expected to receive around €30 million, all of which could be reinvested under the new financial framework.

Previously, the club was only permitted to spend a percentage of its transfer income because of financial restrictions imposed by La Liga.

Barcelona has also significantly reduced its wage bill.

According to reports in Spain, the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ansu Fati have already freed approximately €58 million in salary commitments. That figure could rise further if Marc-André ter Stegen and Casadó also leave the club this summer.

The improved financial outlook gives Barcelona greater confidence in the transfer market.

The club has already completed the signing of Anthony Gordon and continues to be strongly linked with Julián Álvarez, who remains one of the biggest names on the club's shortlist.

While the return to the 1:1 rule does not provide unlimited spending power, it removes one of Barcelona's biggest obstacles of recent years. For the first time in several transfer windows, the club will be able to plan new arrivals with far fewer financial and administrative restrictions.
