Barcelona and Girona have agreed on the transfer of midfielder Oriol Romeu, who moved from Girona to Barcelona last summer.
In a reversal of last summer's transfer, the same player is once again the focus of a deal between the two clubs. Oriol Romeu joined Barcelona after a standout season with Girona but was seen more as a backup option.
Despite this, Romeu featured in a considerable number of games, making 37 appearances across all competitions, starting 17 of those. However, Barcelona still considered him expendable, leading to his return to Girona for the new season as a loaned player from Barcelona.
Last summer, a similar transfer involved defender Eric Garcia, who returned to Barcelona after his loan spell at Girona.
