Barcelona have reportedly entered the race to sign Azzedine Ounahi, with the Morocco international emerging as one of the most attractive bargains of the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old midfielder became available at a significantly reduced price after Girona were relegated from La Liga, activating a clause that allows clubs to sign him for just €10 million.
That figure has immediately attracted interest from several clubs across Europe and beyond, with Barcelona now among the latest teams monitoring the situation.
A proven performer on the biggest stage
Ounahi has built a reputation as one of Morocco's most reliable midfielders, particularly through his performances at the last two FIFA World Cups.
He featured regularly as Morocco enjoyed impressive campaigns on football's biggest stage, making a total of 13 World Cup appearances across the two tournaments.
Since making his international debut in 2022, Ounahi has gone on to earn 55 caps for Morocco, contributing 11 goals and nine assists.
A career across Europe
Before joining Girona, Ounahi represented Raja Casablanca, Strasbourg, Angers, Marseille and Panathinaikos, steadily establishing himself as one of the most consistent midfielders available on the market.
Despite Girona's relegation, the Moroccan remained one of the club's standout performers, which explains why so many teams are now trying to take advantage of his affordable release clause.
Barcelona face strong competition
The Catalan giants are far from alone in their pursuit.
According to reports, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Real Sociedad, Brighton and Al-Ittihad have all shown interest in the midfielder.
With a modest transfer fee, extensive international experience and proven performances at World Cups, Ounahi represents one of the market's most attractive opportunities.
Whether Barcelona decide to make a formal move remains to be seen, but competition for the Moroccan international is expected to intensify as the transfer window enters its final weeks.
