Marc-André ter Stegen advises Lamine Yamal to remain humble despite early success while praising new coach Hansi Flick’s influence on Barcelona's training.

Barcelona's German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen offered heartfelt advice to his young teammate Lamine Yamal, urging him to keep his "feet on the ground" despite his impressive start to his career. Yamal, who won Euro 2024 with Spain at just 17, has been tipped for a bright future.

Speaking at Barcelona’s training camp in Annapolis, Maryland, Ter Stegen emphasized the importance of staying grounded as Yamal's career is just beginning.

"He is a player who is just starting out. Winning a major title like the European Championship is something he will never forget, and I wish him many more titles. I hope he maintains that hunger to compete for titles every year," Ter Stegen said.

Ter Stegen praised Yamal’s current level of play and expressed hope for his continued development. "He’s at a spectacular level already, and I hope he gets even better. He has a lot of years ahead of him," the goalkeeper added.

Barcelona is currently in the United States for their pre-season tour and will face Real Madrid in New Jersey on Saturday. Ter Stegen also spoke positively about the arrival of new German coach Hansi Flick, noting his effective physical training methods.

"He has a great way of working on a physical level. He wants to press high, always follow the race, and ensure everyone is attentive. His approach helps us maintain a physical level that allows us to play not just two games in a row, but three or four," Ter Stegen explained.
