Bayern Munich has ousted Arsenal from the Champions League knockout stages for the fifth time, extending a two-decade dominance over the English club.

Bayern Munich's dominance over Arsenal in the Champions League continued as they eliminated the Gunners for the fifth time, this time in the quarterfinals—a first for the teams' encounters in this competition. Previously, all eliminations had occurred during the round of 16.

The series of defeats began in the 2004/05 season when Bayern first triumphed at home with a 3:1 victory, followed by a narrow 1:0 defeat in the return leg. The pattern continued in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons with aggregate scores of 4:2 and 3:1, respectively. However, the most memorable clash came in the 2016/17 season, where Bayern advanced with a staggering aggregate score of 10:2, highlighting their overwhelming superiority during this phase.

This record is only surpassed by one other repetitive outcome in the Champions League knockout stages, where Bayern Munich themselves have been eliminated six times by Real Madrid, marking them as another frequent victim in the competition's later rounds.
