18-year-old Joane Gadou, sold by PSG last summer, has impressed at RB Salzburg and is now being tracked by Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.
Paris Saint-Germain may already regret letting go of Joane Gadou. The highly rated 18-year-old defender joined RB Salzburg last summer in search of first-team football, and he’s quickly made his mark in Austria.
Since the start of 2025, Gadou has missed just one league game and has become a cornerstone of Salzburg’s backline. His consistent performances have caught the attention of Bayern Munich, who are now considering a move for the Frenchman during the summer transfer window.
Gadou was one of Salzburg’s standout players in an otherwise underwhelming season for the club. Despite arriving just last year for a reported €10 million, his rapid development has made him a player in high demand. With a contract valid until 2029, Salzburg are in a strong negotiating position and will demand a hefty fee if they agree to let him go.
While RB Leipzig is also monitoring the situation—traditionally acting as the next step for top talents in the Red Bull system—it appears Bayern Munich might try to bypass the usual path and go straight for the prize. Given Gadou’s form, his market value is expected to rise significantly in the coming months.
The Frenchman, whose full name is Kouakou Henry-Joane Aaron Aimerick Gadou, was recently named Player of the Month in the Austrian Bundesliga for April. His stature, composure, and athleticism have already drawn comparisons to elite European centre-backs, and a move to a Bundesliga powerhouse could be the next step in his fast-moving career.
