Bayern Munich is very close to completing the transfer of a player who was previously on the verge of joining the Bavarian giants.

In the past, Bayern Munich has been highly critical of the transfer policies of other elite European clubs, with the former club management often boasting that Bayern is much more prudent and thrifty in the transfer market compared to their European counterparts.

However, Bayern missed out on the league title last season, and the changing circumstances have quickly altered the club's personnel philosophy.

So far, Bayern has spent around 90 million euros on the acquisitions of Michael Olise, Hiroki Ito, Bryan Zaragoza, and Nestory Irankunda. According to German media, Bayern is also set to sign Portuguese defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha from Fulham in the coming days.

The transfer is practically agreed upon, with Bayern set to pay 50 million euros for the 28-year-old Portuguese player, excluding additional performance-related bonuses.

On the other hand, Bayern has not earned much from sales so far. Malik Tillman was sold to PSV Eindhoven for 12 million euros, and Bayern can also expect a share from the sale of their former striker Joshua Zirkzee. If the Dutchman is sold for his 40 million euro release clause, half of that amount will go to Bayern.
