Bayern Munich will sell Gabriel Vidovic to Dinamo Zagreb for €1.5 million, with a buy-back clause likely included in the deal.

Gabriel Vidovic’s time at Bayern Munich appears to be coming to an end, as the 21-year-old attacker is set to sign permanently with Dinamo Zagreb, according to Croatian outlet 24Sata.

Vidovic, who has 21 appearances for Croatia’s U21 national team, spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Mainz 05 but failed to make an impression, playing just once. Bayern recalled him in February following Mathys Tel’s loan move to Tottenham, yet even with limited depth behind Harry Kane, Vidovic featured only in four brief substitute appearances late in games.

Born in Germany but of Croatian descent, Vidovic joined Bayern’s academy from Augsburg at the age of 13, signing a professional contract in January 2022. He made two senior appearances under Julian Nagelsmann and enjoyed productive loan spells at Vitesse and Dinamo Zagreb, before his ill-fated stint in Mainz.

According to reports, Bayern will receive a €1.5 million transfer fee, and although no major German outlets have confirmed the deal yet, Sport Bild recently reported Dinamo's interest. As with other recent sales of youth players, Bayern are expected to retain a buy-back clause, similar to the one negotiated for Frans Krätzig, who was sold earlier this summer.

Vidovic’s return to Dinamo Zagreb, where he previously impressed, could offer the forward a much-needed fresh start and consistent playing time to reignite his career.
