After a long recovery from injury, Bayern Munich will finally be able to count on Leroy Sané this weekend.
For the first time this season, Bayern Munich will have Leroy Sané available, confirmed head coach Vincent Kompany. The Bavarians will face Kiel in their upcoming Bundesliga fixture.
The agile Sané was injured during the 2024 European Championship, where he represented Germany, the host nation. He had to undergo surgery, followed by a fairly long recovery period.
"We have a lot of players, but we need each and every one of them. We're facing a week with three matches. Aside from those who are out for longer, the rest are ready. That includes Sané, who can now help the team," Kompany confirmed at a press conference.
"Sané played incredibly well in the first half of last season and contributed to many of Bayern’s goals, but in the second half, he struggled with injuries and pain. Despite that, he tried to play, and I saw a true fighter in him. It's great to know the pain is behind him now," the Bayern coach added.
The Bavarians will play a league match against Kiel this weekend, and next week, they face Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
