Bayern Munich have offered Crystal Palace €71 million plus bonuses for Eberechi Eze after Florian Wirtz opted for a Liverpool move.
Bayern Munich have quickly shifted their focus after losing the race for Florian Wirtz, and have identified Eberechi Eze as their next major transfer target. According to the Daily Mirror, the Bavarian giants have submitted a €71 million offer plus €9.5 million in bonuses to Crystal Palace.
The 26-year-old English playmaker is coming off a sensational season, having recorded 14 goals and 11 assists across all competitions. His rise in form helped Palace lift the FA Cup, and now he’s attracting serious attention from Europe’s elite.
Bayern already struck gold last summer with the signing of Michael Oliseh from Palace. The Frenchman had a standout debut season in the Bundesliga, which has encouraged Bayern to revisit Selhurst Park for another star acquisition.
With Wirtz heading to Liverpool and Leroy Sane possibly on his way out, Bayern are in urgent need of fresh creativity in the final third. Eze’s flair, versatility and goal contributions make him an ideal replacement—and the German giants appear willing to meet Palace’s demands.
Convincing Eze could be the easier part of the deal. A move to the Bundesliga champions and the chance to play Champions League football is expected to appeal to the London-born midfielder, who has previously been linked with top Premier League sides.
If the deal goes through, it would mark the second consecutive summer Bayern splashes significant money on a Crystal Palace player—a surprising but telling sign of the South London club's growing talent reputation.
