Robin Meißner gave Osnabrück a dream start against Bayern Munich with a spectacular long-range strike after only five minutes in the German Cup.

Bayern Munich could hardly have imagined a worse start to their German Cup clash away at Osnabrück. Just five minutes into the match, Robin Meißner produced a sensational goal to put the hosts ahead.
Bayern took the cup tie seriously, with Vincent Kompany naming a powerful starting XI featuring Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Díaz. Yet it was Osnabrück who struck first in spectacular fashion.
After a long ball forward, Meißner won his battle with Jonathan Tah and immediately spotted an opportunity. From almost 30 metres, the Osnabrück striker unleashed a thunderous effort towards goal.
The ball flew perfectly into the top-right corner, leaving Bayern goalkeeper Jonas Urbig with virtually no chance. He could only follow it with his eyes as the stadium erupted.
It was the kind of strike that instantly became a contender for one of the goals of this season's DFB-Pokal and gave the underdogs a dream opening against the German giants.
The goal was even more remarkable given Bayern's approach to the match. Kompany had sent several of his biggest stars onto the pitch from the opening whistle, but five minutes later it was Osnabrück celebrating an unforgettable moment.
