Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies was caught driving under the influence in Munich, exceeding the alcohol limit. He faces a fine and a one-month driving ban.
Alphonso Davies, the Bayern Munich and Canadian national team star, found himself in trouble during the early hours of Friday after being stopped by police in the center of Munich. Davies, driving a black Lamborghini, tested positive for alcohol consumption, recording a blood alcohol level of 0.6 per mille, slightly above the legal limit in Germany of 0.5 per mille.
According to Bild, Davies’ alcohol level was not classified as a criminal offense, which would have required a reading of 0.8 per mille or higher, but it does carry consequences. As per German law, Davies has been fined €500 and will lose his driving license for one month.
The player was forced to stop driving immediately, and a friend who was sober took over and transported the vehicle. While the incident has not escalated into a more serious legal matter, it remains unclear whether Bayern Munich will impose additional disciplinary measures.
So far, Bayern Munich has not issued an official statement regarding the incident. Despite the overnight drama, Davies attended the club's training session as usual on Friday morning to prepare for their highly anticipated clash against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
This incident may spark internal discussions within the club, as Davies is a key figure both on and off the pitch for Bayern.
