Beşiktaş have reportedly started talks with Al Hilal over Aleksandar Mitrović, with Solskjaer keen to bring the Serbian striker back to European football.
A potential blockbuster move could be in the works, with Turkish outlet Fotomaç reporting that Beşiktaş have opened negotiations with Al Hilal to sign Aleksandar Mitrović ahead of next season.
The Serbian international, who has been in excellent form in Saudi Arabia with 14 goals in 17 appearances, is said to be a top transfer priority for Beşiktaş as they prepare a serious title push to rival Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe.
Solskjaer’s plan to reshape Beşiktaş
According to the report, Beşiktaş manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is personally driving the interest in Mitrović, seeing the 30-year-old striker as the ideal leader of his revamped attack.
Beşiktaş are currently trailing their Istanbul rivals in the Süper Lig standings, and the club’s board is reportedly ready to back Solskjaer in the transfer market with high-profile additions.
Mitrović only joined Al Hilal in 2023 but could now be tempted by a return to European football, especially if Beşiktaş present a project built around him. The Turkish club believes his proven goal-scoring record, physical presence and leadership could make him the difference-maker in a tight title race next season.
