Dinamo Zagreb are close to signing Dion Drena Beljo from Augsburg in a deal that could become the club’s second-biggest transfer ever.

Dinamo Zagreb are on the verge of completing one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history. According to Večernji list, the Croatian champions are closing in on a deal for Dion Drena Beljo, a Croatian striker currently under contract with Augsburg.

Beljo, who first rose to prominence with NK Osijek, earned a move to Bundesliga side Augsburg thanks to his standout performances in the Croatian top flight. However, his stint in Germany proved less successful, leading to a loan move to Rapid Vienna last season—where he enjoyed a strong campaign, scoring 19 goals and providing 5 assists in 48 matches across all competitions.

Now, Augsburg are prepared to sell, with the asking price set at €5 million, while Dinamo have reportedly offered €4 million. Negotiations are ongoing, and both clubs appear open to reaching a compromise, possibly in the €4.5 million range.

If completed, the transfer would become Dinamo’s second-biggest incoming deal ever, behind only the €5 million acquisition of Marko Rog from RNK Split nearly a decade ago.

Beljo also featured against Borac Banja Luka in last season’s Conference League round of 16, helping Rapid eliminate the Bosnian side.

This move signals Dinamo’s renewed ambition to bolster their attacking options as they aim to reclaim domestic dominance and make a deeper run in European competitions.
