England's impressive World Cup victory over Croatia sparked emotional celebrations on and off the pitch, with Jude Bellingham sharing a memorable moment with girlfriend Ashlyn Castro after the final whistle.

The Three Lions opened their campaign with an entertaining 4-2 victory in Arlington, Texas, and the players later headed towards the stands to celebrate with family members and partners.

Bellingham, one of England's standout performers, was seen embracing and kissing Ashlyn Castro after the match.

Families join the celebrations

Ashlyn watched the match wearing an England shirt and sat alongside Jude's parents, Denise and Mark Bellingham.

The celebrations were not limited to the England midfielder.

Captain Harry Kane was also joined by his wife Katie Goodland after scoring twice in the victory.

Jordan Pickford celebrated with his wife Megan Pickford, who had earlier revealed she experienced travel difficulties before arriving in Texas.

Megan wrote on social media:

"No suitcase mishap was going to stop me supporting my husband."

An unforgettable opener

The match itself delivered plenty of drama.

Kane gave England the lead from the penalty spot before Croatia twice fought back through Martin Baturina and Petar Musa.

England responded brilliantly after the break.

Bellingham scored less than two minutes into the second half to restore the lead before substitutes Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford combined for England's fourth goal.

The result placed England at the top of Group L and provided the perfect start to their World Cup campaign.

Fans celebrate across England

Supporters back home also enjoyed the occasion despite concerns that late kick-off times could affect viewing figures.

Pubs across the country were packed as fans celebrated England's strong performance.

Scenes of supporters singing and celebrating greeted the final whistle as optimism around the national team continued to grow.

England's attention now turns to their next group-stage challenge against Ghana.
