Bernardo Silva wants to join Barcelona after leaving Manchester City, but coach Hansi Flick still has doubts about the transfer despite support from Joan Laporta and Deco.

Bernardo Silva’s future increasingly points toward Barcelona.
After bringing his Manchester City chapter to an end, the Portuguese midfielder has become one of the most attractive free agents on the market, and according to reports from Spain, his priority is already clear.
He wants Barcelona.
Spanish media claim the Catalan club and the player have already reached an agreement in principle over personal terms, while club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco strongly support the transfer.
Deco, in particular, reportedly sees Silva as a perfect market opportunity.
Barcelona would not need to pay a transfer fee for the 31-year-old, something extremely important given the club’s ongoing financial limitations.
Atlético Madrid tried to convince him
Only days ago, reports in Spain suggested Atlético Madrid had taken the lead in the race for Silva after offering him a significantly higher salary than Barcelona.
Juventus also showed serious interest.
But Barcelona’s entry into negotiations reportedly changed the entire situation.
Despite the lower financial package, Silva is said to prefer the sporting project at Camp Nou and the possibility of becoming part of Hansi Flick’s new era.
Now everything depends on Flick
The biggest obstacle is no longer money.
The final decision reportedly belongs to Flick, who still has certain doubts about the move.
The German coach appreciates Silva’s quality and experience, but believes Barcelona already possess strong midfield depth and may require different player profiles more urgently.
Deco does not completely agree.
The sporting director reportedly believes Silva would bring exactly what Barcelona’s young squad currently lacks, leadership, stability and experience at the highest level.
His tactical flexibility is another major argument in his favour.
Throughout his career, Silva has successfully operated as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, winger and even in deeper playmaking roles.
Barcelona lost several experienced leaders in recent years, and inside the club there is a belief that Silva’s arrival could help stabilise one of Europe’s youngest elite squads.
Now the waiting game begins.
If Flick gives the green light, Barcelona could soon land one of the most technically gifted midfielders of the last decade without paying a single euro in transfer compensation.
